THE CROSSFIT OPEN IS...

The community games. It’s the time of year when the CrossFit affiliates communities get to be the hero’s. We show up in big numbers for each other, we take on 3 workouts over 3 weeks, 1 workout per week and we give it our absolute best.


THE CROSSFIT OPEN is a test of fitness for us all. A chance to measure our progress on previous CrossFit opens or to turn the page and measure our first CrossFit open.


THE CROSSFIT OPEN is fun...

Sharing the occasion with your training buddies, Sharing the memories with them throughout each week, anticipating what is next and encouraging others to give their all.




THE CROSSFIT OPEN IS a chance to step up. To try the workout RXD and see what happens, a chance to scale the workout if you cany do it RXD and a chance to learn from others and watch what they do that is successful and that also could help you to be better.

What happens if you are away on the Friday night? - You can do the open in gym class hours. Just bring your own judge and also stay in the corner away from class. Music volume will also be regulated to suit the class, not to suit your personal needs.

What time does it start Friday? - After the 5pm class our coaches will brief the open around 615pm

- By 630pm the brief will be over and heats will be designed for the evening

- Each athlete will both JUDGE and WORKOUT at different times in the night to support the successful running of the evening

DO WE HAVE TO DO THE JUDGES COURSE?

Yes. Each person in the open needs a judge for the night to run smoothly. The role of the judge is to count the reps, loudly NO REP the reps that don’t meet the CrossFit standard and take the time or total score for the athlete doing the workout.

Judges make the event possible and keep the athletes accountable.

I’M scared to do the open....

Dont take it so seriously. We train to get better and have fun. We do the open to see be part of something bigger. In 3 weeks it will be over and we will look forward to doing it again. It’s a great time of year.
